Who: to be hosted by ABCW.
For the second time the angel awards will be held in the Okanagan. These unique bronze figures designed and cast by sculptor Jock Hildebrand, especially for this event are awarded to seven of our best and recognize the achievements by our Okanagan cultural heroes. This award event celebrating our cultural heroes will feature a series of awards for different aspects and categories of the arts throughout the Okanagan area, from Salmon arm to Osoyoos.
The event will be broadcast live through the internet
Hosted by the Arts and Business Council Westside and the Rotary Centre for the Arts. The event will take place in the Mary Irwin Theatre

Awards for arts of distinction: projects and personalities.
This awards event will feature a series of awards for different aspects and categories of the arts throughout the Okanagan area, from Salmon Arm to Osoyoos. The event is Okanagan wide and will celebrate those special people in our community. Nominations from different associations will be sought for individuals and special projects. Associations from which nominations are sought:
1. Arts councils
2. City councils
3. Arts associations and groups
4. Individuals
5. Service groups.
Categories for the Angels Awards
Nominations for awards:
Nominations are solicited from the Okanagan arts community through a variety of means, those being:
1. Press releases
2. Requests for nominations sent to arts organizations
3. advertisements
4. Public Service Announcements.
5. Nominations from nomination committee
Nominations should be accompanied by an official form as well individual letters of support and other support material. Accompanying the nomination should be a form that is permission granted by the nominee Nominations should be juried to three nominee finalists in each category. The finalist will be announced after the three final nominees are showcased during the awards ceremony.
Juries will be chosen from the previous year's winners and from the different communities. Each jury should be comprised of three members. If there are more nominations for jury committee positions, than needed, the arts and business council will make the decision by invitation. Juries are be given a clear list of criterion for nominees Eg: Leadership in the Arts (Organization)
1. Clear evidence of leadership in an arts organization the nominee's community.
2. Leaderships should show evidence of successful organizing abilities and clearly defined results.
3. Positive impact in the larger community should be noticed and evaluated
4. A minimum of three letters of support from individuals or organizations must accompany nominations. Examples of leadership in support letters are to be evaluated. 5. Winners must wait for a three year period before they can be re-nominated. Sponsorships: Sponsorships will be sought from the various communities and there will be two categories: Media sponsorships Award sponsorships. Sponsors are recognized in all media releases and in several different ways at the event.
